About Hassan Lâasri
Thirty years bridging AI science and executive execution.
Strategic advisory, interim executive leadership, and executive training, on one standard: full operational handover.
The Narrative
When I leave, the system keeps working.
I build data and AI systems inside organizations or take products to market. When I leave, the system keeps working. That distinction matters.
My career has moved through five stages across thirty years: research and development, program leadership, marketing and go-to-market, advisory and interim leadership, and executive training in data and AI. Along the way: a PhD in artificial intelligence at Inria and postdoctoral research at UMass Amherst; two AI patents from research at Alcatel, now part of Nokia Bell Labs IP; program leadership there, building the first worldwide telecom network management platform; and go-to-market at ILOG, now part of IBM, where I grew the telecom vertical from 2% to 46% of revenue, contributing to its IPO.
Over the last decade I have led data and AI transformations for Christian Dior Couture, Carrefour, and Covéa and handed each over working; the Dior handover took four months, with senior leadership in place. Today I train executive and MBA cohorts in Enterprise AI at UM6P and KEDGE Business School.
I am co-founder of Commercial Intelligence Instruments (CII), an AI-native venture helping B2B organizations focus on fewer, better-defended commercial opportunities instead of larger prospect lists. The practice remains independent, and mandates are open alongside the venture.

The Arc
From multi-agent research to enterprise transformation.
Six chapters, compounding into today’s practice.
Research foundations
PhD in Artificial Intelligence (blackboard systems) at Inria; postdoctoral research in Distributed AI (multi-agent systems) at UMass Amherst. Industrial research at Alcatel: two AI patents granted, now part of Nokia Bell Labs IP.
Systems at carrier scale
Alcatel: built and led the first worldwide telecom network management platform, a 140-person team across internal staff, contractors, and partner companies; distributed systems architecture. Clients included France Telecom, Telecom Italia, and Deutsche Telekom.
Go-to-market across industries
ILOG (now part of IBM): grew the telecom vertical from 2% to 46% of revenues as Marketing Director, contributing to the IPO (Nortel, Motorola). Esterel Technologies: safety-critical embedded systems (Dassault, Airbus). Zeliade Systems: quantitative finance for hedge funds in New York, London, Hong Kong. Executive Certificate in Marketing Strategy, Stanford University.
Platforms and measurement
Ipsos: Chief Project Officer; built survey platforms and audience measurement systems, leading a team of 10 coordinating global data infrastructure (Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, Microsoft, BBC). BVA: interim executive leading the data science practice for luxury and consumer goods clients.
Enterprise transformation
Christian Dior Couture, Carrefour, and Covéa: data and AI transformations across luxury, retail, and insurance. Plus data strategy at EDF, a Swiss investment bank fintech realignment, and an AI recommendation engine at HighCo that became its data and AI agency, each ending in full handover.
Today
HB & MJ Partners, my independent practice: strategic advisory, interim executive leadership, and executive training across Europe, North America, and Africa. Teaching at UM6P and KEDGE. Co-founder since March 2026 of Commercial Intelligence Instruments (CII), an AI-native venture for complex B2B selling. Mandates remain open alongside the venture.
